Should we add a CONTRIBUTORS.md and remove the link to the archived github repo?

If someone wants to be listed they just have to add themself to this list and we could generate the initial list from the commit-chain.

I find these kinds of files anachronistic, as anybody interested in that info can get it from the git history.

If needed the changelog tool used here can also generate this file for each release..
